Venerable Robina Courtin

Venerable Robina Courtin has been a nun for over 20 years in the Gelugpa tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. She spent 10 years editing for Wisdom Publications followed by over 5 years as the main editor of Mandala, an international Buddhist newsmagazine. Ven. Robina currently directs the Liberation Prison Projectserving several hundred prisoners nationwide, and travels around the world teaching Buddhism to students of all ages and levels. Ven. Robina's prison work was recently profiled in an award-winning documentary, Chasing Buddha.

Venerable Bhiksuni (Anila)

Ven. Bhiksuni (Anila) Ann McNeil is a Canadian who has been a Tibetan Buddhist nun for over 30 years. She was one of the first Westerners to be ordained and spent years with her first teacher Lama Yeshe. Before becoming a nun Anila Ann was a ski instructor in Canada and a travel agent in Greece; she serves as a Buddhist chaplain for federal prisons in lower mainland BC. Anila Ann teaches in Vancouver at Zuru Ling Centre (spiritual director Ven. Zasep Tulku Rinpoche) and in White Rock, where her many students enjoy receiving the Dharma wrapped in the mystery, adventure and humour of her experiences.

Joan Stigliani

Joan Stigliani has been practicing and studying Buddhism since 1982, after living and traveling in Asia. After practicing for many years in the Insight Meditation tradition and the Zen tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, she entered the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, following particularly the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and many other Tibetan lamas in the Gelug tradition as presented in the FPMT. Most recently she attended the FPMT Masters Program, completing four of its five courses in Buddhist Studies. Joan currently lives in Albuquerque.
